Ueno Park will be plunged into terror during Silver Week—the heart of the "Ueno Zoku Summer Festival" is this fountain plaza. Experiential attractions such as a screaming ambulance, a freezing cold roller coaster, and a cursed object garden line the area, jet-black wagyu yakisoba and zombie dumplings steam up, and horror-themed Bon Odori dances shake the night on the stage. There are several theories about the origin of the name, but it is said that people called the streetscape itself, which changes its appearance every night, "ghost." There is no more fitting place to check out during the Ueno Zoku Summer Festival. Rely on the map and get lost as you make your way there. The exit may not be the same as the entrance.

Born from the post-war black market, Ameya Yokocho remains bustling with people to this day. The cries of touts, the sweet scent of candy, the waves of people rubbing shoulders—amidst this vibrant energy lies the stamp of a thrilling summer. In a place so crowded with living people, is it even possible to distinguish something that isn't human? When you turn around, the face you saw just moments ago is gone. The busiest street in Ueno is also the street where it's easiest to lose sight of someone.

Nakamachi Street, which extends from Ueno Hirokoji, is a sophisticated street that truly comes alive after sunset. Layers of neon lights and signs beckon you deeper and deeper into its alleyways. The shops participating in the "Zoku Natsu x Mori Machi Furari" digital stamp rally are also located in this area. The first to collect five stamps will receive a prize, but before that, you might find yourself stopping in one of the side streets. You won't know if it's a shop or something else beckoning you until you take a look.
