This museum showcases the history and culture of Hyogo Prefecture. It holds exhibitions several times a year, each focusing on a different theme. In addition to exhibits and theater facilities related to the history of the "Five Provinces of Hyogo" and the adjacent Himeji Castle, there is also a permanent exhibition corner showcasing the museum's collection. The building's basic design was created by the late Kenzo Tange, a recipient of the Order of Culture, and it expresses the structural beauty of Himeji Castle in a modern style.

In 1876, during the Meiji era, the Bashamichi Road was completed, and a monument commemorating this milestone stands here. The monument, erected by Moriaki Asakura, who was in charge of the construction of the Bashamichi Road, records the expenses, the names of those who contributed, and the fact that it was an unprecedented undertaking in Japan at the time. Currently, the surrounding area has been developed into a mini-park with carriage models and flowerbeds. This year marks the 150th anniversary of the completion of the Silver Bashamichi Road. Please stop by and reflect on what it was like in those days.

This shop, directly managed by the Bōze Fisheries Cooperative, sells fresh fish and other products from Bōze Island in the Harima Sea. They sell freshly caught seafood, processed goods, local agricultural products, and souvenirs. The shop also has a restaurant where you can enjoy Bōze brand fish dishes. You can also eat sashimi purchased at the fish counter. A BBQ hut is attached where you can grill seasonal seafood, making it a facility where you can enjoy Himeji's seasonal ingredients.

In the northwestern part of the Banshu Plain in Hyogo Prefecture, a region known as Okuharima in the Seto Inland Sea, lies Yasutomi Town, home to Shimomura Brewery. Ninety percent of the town is surrounded by forests, blessed with pristine, abundant water, clean air, and, above all, a luxurious supply of high-quality sake rice, "Yamada Nishiki." Furthermore, the cold air blowing down from the Chugoku Mountains in winter creates an ideal climate for sake brewing. Since its founding in 1884, the brewery has cherished and preserved its traditional, handcrafted sake brewing methods, making the most of these natural blessings.

11 Zappa Village [Number of stamps: 2]

Zappa Village, a multi-purpose hub in Taishi, Himeji City, brings together women's clothing made from natural materials, general goods and workshops, a cafe, and a sheltered workshop (Type B). It also houses a leather workshop, a music studio, and a dog salon. They also operate a day care service in Sayo Town. Their management philosophy is "Turning small happiness into big happiness." — Zappa views differences as pieces of a puzzle that complement each other, and proposes a lifestyle of co-creation as a spiritual home.

12 Himeji Castle [Number of stamps: 2]

This is one of Japan's most representative castles, registered as a World Heritage Site. Known as "White Heron Castle" due to its beautiful white plaster exterior, the castle complex, with its main keep at the center and a network of turrets, gates, and stone walls, showcases excellent defensive structures and advanced architectural techniques. The ever-changing scenery throughout the seasons is also a major attraction.

Founded in 966, this is a special head temple of the Tendai sect and the 27th of the 33 Kannon pilgrimage sites in Western Japan. The group of buildings, including the Mani-den and San-no-do, are nationally designated important cultural properties and have been used as filming locations for movies and dramas, making for a truly impressive sight. Sutra copying and Zen meditation (reservations required) are also available.
